Back Roads

The other day I met with my client's, who have their property located at 70708 Valley View, Elgin, Oregon listed with me and were meeting to discuss what we can do to encourage buyers to take a look at it.  This is a wonderful 9.57 ac piece with an A frame house offering generous owner terms - Price $250,000, with $40,000 down seller will carry for a time.  Check it out RMLS #9031827 on candybowman.com web site.

Sorry off track here....Anyhow I had another appointment in Cove, Oregon, I was running late, don't you hate that,  so I took the back way, lower Cove Road, guess it is now known as Market Lane. The road winds through the various fields of mint - great smell, wheat, alfalfa and fields of SUNFLOWERS!!! All framed in by the high mountain peaks-- How is that diversity?? Once again an ordinary day in Eastern Oregon turns into a visual experience just by taking the road less traveled.

Speaking of the Road Less traveled I belong to Blue Mountain Toastmasters in La Grande, Oregon. I have been a member for quite some time, we are a too small club looking for members.  We are reaching out but no one is grabbing our hand, any ideas?

Whirl-wind weekend in Union County, Oregon. List of events one could attend:

1. Huckleberry Festival-North Powder, Oregon

2. World famous Chief Joseph Days, Joseph, Oregon

3. Family camping at Pilcher Reservoir, North Powder, Oregon.

We don't have any big air conditoned Malls, but boy do we have the outdoors. Maybe that is why we are hardy bunch. Are air is pretty clean, crime is pretty low, and people are mostly nice.

Speaking of nice folks we were sitting at the Pilcher Reservoir and a nice woman offered us all a cold drink, thinking we didn't have any.  Wow!! It was very nice.

Listed a great lot today, Its right next to the Union, Oregon public Golf Course. I'll add some pictures and information about Buffalo Peak Golf Course tomorrow. But what a great lot, over looking Union, Oregon and just a short walk to the Club house..Price...$43,500  for .81 of an ac.  Want to know more about Union, Oregon, Check my web site.. www.candybowman.com

It's going to be hot, hot today, July 22, 2009. In Eastern Oregon there are lots of ways to cool down that don't cost you an arm and leg or competing for space. La Grande, Oregon has a very nice covered pool. Elgin, Oregon boasts an outdoor pool, community center and nice park.

Looking for a little more adventure-Morgan Lake is a popular spot, located about 15 miles from La Grande, Oregon. There are several swimming holes on the Grande Ronde river.

But, today I am taking my lovely granddaughter and a few friends to the Water Park in Pendleton, Oregon, I haven't been there, I will let you know. In preparation for the trip I discovered I needed a new swim suit. Always a challenge, but the stores have sold out by now, but I LOVE LIVING IN EASTERN OREGON, because as I was looking a clerk at Blue Mt. Sports told me she saw suits for the more discriminate taste, in other words one that covers more that 10% of the body, at D & B Supply, the local Western/Feed store.  We make it happen here...
Will let you know about the water park.

I Love Eastern Oregon

I love living in Eastern Oregon

Sunday we loaded up on our motorcycles, and took off. At the end of the day, 275 miles I asked myself "where else can you live that you can ride through the high desert, see the Elk Horn mountains, watch the Powder River meander into the Snake River, Ride along side of the Eagle Cap Wilderness, stop for a while and watch the Imnaha River rush by in all its crystal, clean glory. Stop in Enterprise, Oregon to visit the brother-in-law. Head home through the mountains, past the Minam River, up and over Ladd Canyon. And be home in time to have burgers on the grill."?

If you like more details about the roads we took ect..or in other words directions please let me know.

Do you have some favorite places in your area where you like to go? Especially if they are motorcycle (touring) roads. I would love to come to your area and see some the places that are not on the beaten tract.

Looking for a good place to live, Consider Eastern Oregon, for a real change.
